No one remembers where this recipe came from, and who is its founder, but the first mention is rightfully considered to be recorded in the recipes of the American publication “New York Times”. Then the note is a simple, original and very simple snack gradually took all the catering, fast foods, eates and pubs.  It is amazing how few ingredients and a little time after work in order to please each family member. We clean and cut the onion across so that equal stripes from 5 to 7 mm are obtained to your taste. We carefully disassemble on the rings. The onion immediately gives juice, well, remember, from which the eyes are watery and other troubles occur. So, in order to get rid of it, soak our rings in ice water. Let them stand for 20-30 minutes. After half an hour we take out the rings and put it on a paper towel - let the water drain until dry. While the rings are drying - we cook the batter.

In a separate container, mix bulk ingredients: salt, flour and baking powder in proportions: 1 cup per dining room and teaspoon. If the flour of large grinding, it is advisable to sift it well. Further, the thing is for the egg: we take one and separate the yolk from the protein. Beat the yolk slightly and add the mixture with a spoon of sunflower oil to the bulk - mix everything. Beat the protein separately until the foam is formed - gradually we insert it into the batter and mix it thoroughly. And we are in the finale! It would be nice to have a deep fryer, but if not, it doesn’t matter. To make onion rings enough pans. In a preheated pan with a thick bottom, pour approximately a centimeter - one and a half, a layer of refined oil.

It is important that the rings are completely immersed in it, so look at the width of the chopped strips. We are waiting for the oil warmly warm up - it will start bubble. Pre -cleaned onions, we already managed to cut into the rings of the thickness we need, defend on the water and dry. Turn on the oven at the average temperature.
